Much much better than the TV mini series, honestly if you like historical fiction this book is a must.
Ken Follett belongs to the dying breed of storytellers. Nowadays, it is either the commercial printing press when authors publish three to four novels a year that are replicas of each other, or there are literary artists who see literature for the sake of literature. By the way, I might be a snob reader, so I fully support the latter group, but I also enjoy storytelling, that good old storytelling that dates back to the times of Homer.

Once upon a time, I started dating a guy. As we shared our favorite books, he kept telling me about one of his favorites. He said, "It's about the building of a cathedral." Great, I'll add that to the top of my reading list....NOT!
