I have to admit something kind of embarrassing here. I have never really given much thought to the title of this book. Also, there has never been much reason for me to use leagues as a unit of measurement. 3.5 stars. This was a 5 star read for me for close to the first half and then I started to lose interest. Jules Verne was at times a difficult author to read through. The unnecessary details were at times very exhausting. Yet, during action scenes it was fast paced and entrancing. I found the story imaginative, informative, and insightful, despite my struggle at times. Definitely a classic!
