A grizzly and harrowing portrayal of the behind the scenes workings of white-on-white crime in the early 20th century.
Lol, no. It's very well written and well narrated even if the Great Gatsby himself is a poor sad character that's embarrassing to read about for too long. Even Nick, the reserved and contemplative narrator who stands heads and shoulders above the others in terms of core intelligence, is a bit of an idiot on frequent occasions.

I am absolutely thrilled I reread this book. 11 years later, I got so much more from this book than I did in high school. The parties makes one want to be there. Fitzgerald does a beautiful job of describing these experiences in a poetic way. He captures the essence of the 20's as well as what true romance can do to a person. Loving something is one thing. But when one takes that love and returns the past, it turns into a leech sucking life away.
