This is one of those that I never understood the hype over. I read it in one long car ride (288 pages!) and was expecting much more depth. Good? Yeah. Obviously my mind didn't wander. 3.5/5 - this is a piece of fiction written from the perspective of various mother / daughter pairs about their experiences growing up in china and immigrating to the US and the daughter’s experience growing up as the daughter of an immigrant mother.
