Go Tell It on the Mountain is a very powerful book and I can tell why it is on many must read lists. Overall the way it was written was easy to get into and the journey into each specific character was interesting. The focus of the plot is religion and the hypocrisies around it that the author had experienced in his life. Good period writing. I’m always interested by old stories that reference people living in the post Civil War era.
