What Members Thought

For a long time, this book has sat upon my shelf. I never read synopsis anymore, so anything I knew about it was word of mouth. Based on the few things I heard and the image on the cover, this book was not what I expected.
Many people have sung the praises of this book and it has come very highly recommended. Unfortunately I have to say *ducks behind nearest fortified object*, it was just okay for me. Not bad, mind you, but it did not blow my mind, either.

READ IN JAN 2019 STILL incredible and a favourite. Reading it again I found some little bits I hadn't noticed before that helped add some concrete evidence to a theory I have so that was nice. Nothing really compares to this book. I adore it and will probably read it many more times.

Rothfuss is now one of my favourite authors. I so enjoyed this that I moved (at 60% in) to tweet him a "thank you", for the experience.
A magical system (or two magical systems, really) that are unique in my experience. And the magic of sympathy is so well-described that, in a couple of places, I realized the danger that Kvothe (long "o") was placing himself in, before it was demonstrated. In most fantasy novels, the magic is whatever the author tells you it is, from scene to scene.
