This story is cute, touching, heart-warming, tear-jerking. In other words, a classic!

The target audience is definitely not me. I would say it would be perfect for a teenage girl living in Canada in the early 1900s. That makes sense, because that is exactly what Anne is! I was fast captivated by the strong and quirky personality and life story of the orphan Anne with an E. The plot unfolds in very unexpected ways that present and suggest wholesome ideals without being too prissy or forced. The text is cleverly and interestingly written, easy to follow but full of ideas worth considering. All in all it was a delightful read!
