This is my first classic dystopia that I've read. I didn't know what to expect going in (intentionally) and the world and the dystopian ideals unfolded to me as I read. I actually had a visceral reaction to the first chapter of this book, genuienly shocked and horrified at the manipulation of human genetics and the forced disability and stupidity of the lower castes. The scene with the babies was genuienly upsetting. But, I'm sure this is what you can expect with a dystopia.
