What Members Thought
What I've found appalling about much of the YA I've read is its stubborn adherence to graded reader style class stereotypes. Every kid is a middle or upper class genius, off at special genius camp, getting ready for that first semester at Stanford. The professor/mentors are never burn out adjuncts and the prospect of student loans is non-existent. Music and literature are still being taught in schools.
