Sometimes you read a book and you just know that it's going to be a heavy-hitter for the ages. It was very clear that Miller knows the Greek epics inside and out. The descriptions are reminiscent of Homeric prose without being nearly so difficult to read. I was in love with every page.

Not the kind of book I normally read. I like history, but don't usually go so far back as the Trojan war. The mythology reminded me of entranced I was by Greek mythology as a kid. It made me want to read up more on the Trojan war and Achille and Patroclus. I'd recommend it, though the ending is tragic.
