Samuel Steward's life was fascinating and all the people that he seemed to know or cross paths with were like a who's who of literary, tattoo, and early gay history. In the end though, his life ended up sad and I hate to say it but somewhat pathetic which to me seemed like a real tragedy of such a life filled with so many intense adventures and interests. This one is right up there as one faves! The book is even more facinating the second time.
Amazingly detailed, gripping read.
