I kept getting lost with the characters, couldn't tell them apart from each other, couldn't keep their stories straight. Took a lot of work to understand what was going on. I like the premise, and the mystery, and sometimes there were amazing lines.

A friend gave this to me a while ago, and I was bored on Friday, so I read it. It was compelling, mostly on account of the dearth of good gay/queer literature out there. Very high school, very "Varsity Blues," only we get to pay attention to the queer outcast. Rice tends to repeat his symbols a lot.
