This book was finished 40 years ago but is as relevant today as it has ever been. Wow. I was particularly blown away by some of the facts such as that black women are the lowest earning group in America. This is still true in 2021. The poetics of her writing are startling a moving. The dialogue with Adrienne rich was insightful. I found her writing about the act of writing so mesmerizing. Her creative autobiography left me knowing something true about the act of creation. Great work.
