I really wanted to love this book, but it just didn't happen. I know we aren't always supposed to like protagonists but I just couldn't relate to Queenie as a lead at all. All the bad decisions she made were explained away by the end but it felt like all that was needed, even right at the end, was for one thing to shift before she went right back to square one. I really wanted to love this book. It started out as a 5 star but 5 days later I'm on page 191, my patience has worn this thin 👌🏾 with the story and the character - I give up.
This was not what I expected at all. I can't relate to Queenie in the slightest, usually when that happens I can at least identify someone in my life who correlates to the character.
