Elizabeth is trapped by flooding in the Hunsford personage. Mr Darcy comes to the rescue but does not get the welcome he expected.
3.5 rounded up. I did enjoy this story where the forces of nature interrupt Darcy in the middle of his disastrous proposal. There are storms and floods and people seeking assistance, so he doesn't realize that Elizabeth is refusing him right away. Once that misunderstanding is cleared up, there is no way to escape the parsonage, so he is stuck there with Elizabeth as well as some villagers seeking refuge for a couple of days. Starts off with a really awful Darcy, luckily he wises up quickly. Interesting family backstory. Lovely ending for ODC. And I much prefer Jane’s ending here than in canon!
2022 - audio book version is enjoyable also, a little strange on pronunciation & some accents, but very listenable.
