I have to agree with the one other review...that I liked this story much better after Hope became Kathleen/Kate. The first ~20% of the story is a very necessary part as it develops what has happened (Hope has died and is stationed temporarily at Crossroads.) and the explains to Hope and to the readers what choices she has now. We read as she comes to explore and discuss her options with other visitors and with the two people in charge. All necessary, but it didn't ...more

What would you do if you had a second chance at life?
Shannon Winslow looks to have begun an intriguing new series here. Although this is the second book, it doesn't actually matter if this is read before book one as I've done. There is just enough exposition in this one so that the reader can appreciate the back ground to the concept of the Crossroads Centre (or Center!). Also, a minor character from one book may end up as the major character in another and vice versa.

Austenesque Romantic Exciting Tale!
What a pleasant surprise, a book that combines my two favorite genres! Time travel and P & P and Jane Austen!
The beginning threw me for a loop and was quite inventive. It was amazing how easily Hope became Kate with fairly few verbal stumbles in her Regency selection:) It was heartwarming to see her find the big family she always wanted and could love as her own.
The appearance of Mr Cavanaugh as her doctor, to whom she takes an instant dislike was very tellin ...more
