Throne of Glass caught me off-guard with how amazing the story was. As someone who used to hate fantasy books, I sure did love this one! Actually, this was the book that convinced me to read more fantasy books.

Celaena Sardothien was dragged away from the salt mines of Endovier to be the Prince's champion in the competition arranged by the King. If she wins, she'll have her freedom, but not before being the King's champion for three years. When she arrives at the castle, strange things happen and

This book.... omg, this book.
I didn´t know what to spect at the beggining, I mean, everyone was talking about how great was this book, and i didnt really was in the mood for fantacy and thing that this book was going to be overrated, but....

This is an absolutely outstanding first book in an incredible series, little miss Sardothien is a strong female protagonist and helps define what it is to be an assassin. She has many flaws and secrets but most importantly a lethal talent in killing without mercy. Although the story is very much based on Celaena's activities the other characters undoubtedly make this book into what it is and without them the story would lack its authenticity. Chaol will do anything to protect what he loves along ...more

This was almost a DNF for me. Too much like so many fantasy YA fluff books but I pushed through. I decided to read it after I heard so much hype about this book. I thought it was going to be about a badass female assassin kind of more action adventure-y going through daring fights to win her freedom with a touch of political intrigue but most of the book is about the main character trying on dresses, admiring herself, reading books, sleeping in, and kind of flirting with the prince/her guard tot ...more
