I can't help but think that this is one of the other worlds from Throne of Glass series, and the reason that magic has been tampered with is because of the King of Adarlan. Mehehehe.

I'm a ball of emotions right now.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! Honestly, I was reluctant to give it a try because I was scared of being disappointed. But guess what? Not only did this book meet my sky-high expectations, it also exceeded them!

Sarah J. Maas' writing style just gets better and better with each book she releases. Beautifully, beautifully written, ACOTAR is a retelling of The Beauty and the Beast. And have I ever mentioned how much of a sucker I am for fairytale rete ...more

I totally and utterly adored this book!

I went into this after finishing Queen of Shadows, and was really dubious about leaving behind the characters from the TOG series. I had grown so attached to them and I was fearful that this serious wouldn't live up to them. And I am so beyond ecstatic to tell you that they did!

This series was different to the TOG series in so many different ways, but in fact, it made me love it even more because of that. The characters, once again, were my favourite aspec I totally and utterly adored this book!

I went into this after finishing Queen of Shadows, and was really dubious about leaving behind the characters from the TOG series. I had grown so attached to them and I was fearful that this serious wouldn't live up to them. And I am so beyond ecstatic to tell you that they did!

This series was different to the TOG series in so many different ways, but in fact, it made me love it even more because of that. The characters, once again, were my favourite aspect of this book. Although I adored the world building, the faerie creatures and the whole laws of the fae world, the characters were just so in depth and relatable.

Feyre, for example, is incredibly similar to myself in some ways, I can identify with her creativity and the need to want to paint everything. I also found we had the shared a similar trait when in a bad situation, to become bitter and cold. Saying that, I found her character be generally very likeable, and even though she did not possess the same bold strength as Aelin, she had a strength all of her own and I couldn't believe how much I adored her courage and persistence through the plot.

In regards to the other characters, I just wanted to hug Lucien about 90% of the time, he was so ready to be cruel to Feyre at the beginning, but I loved how he warmed to her and finally gained an understanding of how the situation had happened. Also, lets talk about Tamlin briefly, I feel like he is the male lead that you are supposed to like, that you are supposed to fall for, trust, love, but I felt unsettled by how perfect he was, I mean, aside from some basic flaws that were mentioned, he doesn't seem to have any real issues and that didn't sit well with me.

Rhysand on the other hand! I get what all the hype is about now. Dear lord, if I had felt any warmth for Tamlin, it died and flew off on the breeze the moment Rhysand walked into my life! His character is so intoxicating and I cant wait to see how his relationship with Feyre progresses after that end scene.

And Finally, the general plot of this book really had me, I loved that it took me to scenes that I didn't expect and really balanced the whole book with all the action at the end. The trials at the end of the book were a particular treat as there had been so little action in the beginning of the book, but the trials were intense and gory and I loved them!

Anyway, if you are feeling cautious about picking this book up, please don't! I'm actually already on book two and I'm falling in love with this world, so don't hesitate, read it! :D ...more

Uhmmmmm.
Yeah, I've gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed with this one.
I have to say, CRUEL BEAUTY BY ROSAMUND HODGE did the better job with the Beauty and the Beast retelling.
AND THESE CHARACTERS. NO.
Seriously? Tamlin? So predictable and see-through.
NO, JUST NO.
Suprisingly, I want Lucien or Rhysand to be the one that Feyre ends up with.
ALSO THAT ENDING.
Bleh.
No.
Ugh.

This was an amazing book! I loved every moment of it, from the glimpses of the Beauty and the Beast inspiration to the magical yet deadly world of Prythian. I loved it all, can't wait for book 2, though I'm nervous a love triangle may be in the works..not sure how I feel about that but I'm open minded!

Omg!!!! So good!!!! Fave beauty and the Beast re-telling I’ve read so far!!!

I liked it so much I’m thinking of eventually revisiting her other series.

Also, love Feyre and Tam together...... but Rhysand tho.

SO EXCITED TO GET INTO THE NEXT BOOKS!!!!!!!!!
