Madly dizzying and uncustomary to Garcia-Marquez's usual style of writing, but I liked it. His stream-of-consciousness style captured the mythos, reverence, and fear the people had for the General, along with the incompetence and mental frailty of a man ancient in age and mad with power. ...more
