I give up. Borges is not for the busy or for the tired or for the stupid, and I need to own the copy I'm reading instead of trying to finish something this thought-out in the wrong state of mind. It feels like an insult.

Fortunately for me, here's this, and it's not something I need to check out from the library.

On the abstract level, I absolutely admire Borges. His stories are filled with brilliant ideas, erudite philosophical games and haunting (I like this word) imageries. I think he is one of the deepest, most creative thinkers I've ever known.

But something stops me from "loving" him. Yes, loving, like those Maenads seemingly worship him like a rock star:
