Voltaire wouldn't still be read so frequently if he wasn't so brilliant, and so I can by no means criticize the rapacious wit, cutting honesty, and insightful observations of such a master. My favorite of the philosophes, but I would not attempt to tackle this work with no footnotes or additional information.
