Library of Souls was the last novel in the Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children trilogy and although packed with emotion and action, it was one I couldn't find myself as fully absorbed in, when compared to the previous books, especially the first one. For this main reason, unfortunately, it gets a low 3 stars from me, almost a 2.5, but I'm holding back on such a low rating because it was still an enjoyable read and we obviously follow the lives of characters that I've grown to really love Library of Souls was the last novel in the Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children trilogy and although packed with emotion and action, it was one I couldn't find myself as fully absorbed in, when compared to the previous books, especially the first one. The plot really did thicken in this novel and definitely had it's funny moments, particularly when Jacob quoted a Lord of The Rings phrase. At that moment, even with everything going on, I just couldn't help but laugh out loud!

However, despite how moving this clearly was, I found that little things really irritated me, such as Jacob talking more and more old fashioned as the series progressed. Yes, I understand he probably picked up on the lingo his friend's used and was influenced in that way, but it was something that just bothered me. Another irritation was that I found a lot of typos and missing words near the last third of the book, which is not a big issue in the greater schemes of things, but still annoyed me.

As well as this, I just didn't connect so much with this book and because of that I haven't been reaching for it that much, particularly over the last few days before finishing it and when I have picked it up it's been dragging. It's still good, but felt very different to the other books.

The plot was definitely strong and we saw a lot of character development within Jacob and Emma, of which I'd like to mention that I wasn't that grossed out by their relationship any more. I think I just got used to it. The rest of the peculiars, both new and old, were amazing and I loved seeing everyone's input into the storyline and each of their ndividual growth.

Even though this is the lowest rating I've given these books, it is still considered a very brilliant series in my opinion and is one I will continue to recommend. I am going to film a review where I also talk about spoilers, so look out for that (my channel link is in my bio). I'm sure I'll leave the link in the comments, when it's available. Now I'm looking forward to the film and Tales of the Peculiar, both to be released this September, I think. Perfect birth month presents for me!

It took awhile for me to get back into the world of Jacob and Emma but once I got into it I flew through it.
I loved the books all three of them eventhough they weren't really my kind of books.
