I've been debating on reading this book for literally years. Probably ever since the book came out. Every time I was buying one book the cover would catch my eye, I'd pick up the book, read the back cover, and then put the book back because I was afraid that the book was going to be too scary for me. As far as horror goes, I honestly have the worse time with horror movies and the like. Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs: 3.5 Stars

To be honest I feel slightly cheated, I went into this novel thinking that it would be creepy and mysterious with a slight Gothic edge which disapointly it wasn't. I felt as if the relationships Jacob develops with the other peculiar children were rushed and unrealistic and that certain things were left unexplained and open-ended.

I don't think I've ever read anything like this before.
When my sister saw the photographs she was like "how are you even going to sleep after reading this ?" I excepted a horror story too but after reading the book the photographs are not creepy anymore and the story is not a horror story it's an adventure -coolest adventure ever- mystery story.

I liked the story and the concepts a lot. I feel like there was a lot of unneeded filler pages. The story could've done with out some scenes etc.... All in all though, good book with good action, and definitely some unexpected twists and turns! ...more
