This book was surprising and slightly disappointing. I'll start off with saying that I loved the first 150 or so pages they were creepy and mysterious, especially the pry where he was wondering through the house, I felt this slightly 'Woman in Black' atmosphere, which I adored as I hadn't read a ghost story in a while.

This was slow -ish in the beginning but then it picked up and I fell in love with Jacob and Emma. I hated Jacob's parents/family. They were so uninvolved and not understanding to the point where I wished I could reach in the book and slap them!
All in all I'm very excited to read the sequel!

Interesting read nothing like anything else I have ever read. Definitely going to pick up the sequel. My favorite scene was at the end where Jacob and his friends go to prove to his dad that he isn't spending his time with imaginary friends. Olive was the cutest =0.0= 4.30 stars!!!! ...more

Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children. Much different than what I was expecting! I went in to this book knowing nothing about it. I love how the author included pictures so could visualize exactly what he was describing. I also liked the Q&A in the back of the book where the author discusses the where he got all the pictures and the creative process of writing the book.
