Gods, this was even better then the first two books. And i'm not joking at all.
I was truly afraid of this book after Heir of Fire, which was boring and long and felt too overhyped for me. But I couldn't simple hate the book because my favorite characters where there and i needed to know what was going to happen. But this sucker was very different. Queen of Shadows was a thrilling, fast paced aventure that kept me stuck with it . It couldn't even get out of my house without the freaking book! EV ...more

loved it, best one so far :) took me so long bc i didnt read much when i was in vacations.i cant even remember when i started it, but probably in end august, but last week started school again and i have been reading a lot (in class) . the plot twists, so complex this book, the plans.. this book made me almost cry for more than one time, today in class i was starting to tear me... cant wait to read empire of storms

I have given all of the books in this series 5 out of 5 stars because they are all fabulous, but this book just might be my favorite in the series so far, right next to The Assassins Blade and Throne of Glass.
This book was so action packed and interesting that I found it extremely difficult to put this book down. It definitely had my heart racing from beginning to end. I loved reuniting with all of my favorite characters and even meeting some new ones ...more

First read August of 2015.
I knew I'd be way too conflicted with emotions (and tired as hell) to articulate myself properly here so I made a bajillion status updates so it'd all add up. BUT UGH. I'm just–so–torn. I want tor reread the entire series only for the sole purpose of getting more time with Aelin/Celaena. Honestly, that transition though, from her previous persona to her true self felt more natural to me than I'd expected. I think I figured out my issue wit Maas's writing. It feels like she doesn't have a plan when she's writing. It feels more like she is meandering around until she finally hits her goals. It is done poorly, and if she regrets something she did in a previous book, it's a plot twist in the next. That being said, I have no interest in picking up another book by her.

I think my expectations were far too high for this. Took me AGES to finish- literally 2 months. I only really enjoyed manon's chapters and I'm completely sold on her story line, having not enjoyed it that much in the previous book. And only the last quarter was what made this book get a 3.5 stars. I'm hoping the next book is better.
