HOW IS THIS BOOK EVEN REAL IT'S SO PERFECT.
Every aspect I love about fantasy and every type of character I love was in this book. It felt a lot like The Infernal Devices to me, which, can I just say, made. Me. So. Happy.
I'm so thrilled that I still have tons of books left in this series, because I already miss this world. The hype is all completely deserved, and I think everyone should read this book. I'm obsessed. ...more

This book was AMAZING. I have been wanting to start this series for ages but I couldn't really afford to buy all three books (I knew that I would want to marathon them). However, I managed to get the first book really cheap on my Kindle, and I finally decided to pick it up! I have been on a bit of a contemporary streak since January and so I was worried that I would struggle to read a fantasy book - especially since I hadn't really read any high fantasy before. This book was AMAZING. I have been wanting to start this series for ages but I couldn't really afford to buy all three books (I knew that I would want to marathon them). However, I managed to get the first book really cheap on my Kindle, and I finally decided to pick it up! I have been on a bit of a contemporary streak since January and so I was worried that I would struggle to read a fantasy book - especially since I hadn't really read any high fantasy before. But, although it took a while to get into (I had a hard time picturing everything and understanding all the new terms at first), I really came to love the characters and their world.

From the very beginning, I knew that I would love Celaena's character. She's just so bad-ass - and she's well aware of that fact. I was also very intrigued by the competition aspect of the book, and I enjoyed reading about all of the Tests - the poison one in particular.

Of course, I can't not mention the love triangle. Personally, I prefer books to have at least some romance - I find that it makes for a better and more captivating read - and Throne of Glass definitely did not disappoint! At first, I was leaning towards team Chaol, but then Celaena and Dorian got closer and I was rooting for them all the way - I just loved their banter, and Dorian is so sweet! However, I did feel really sorry for Chaol as I saw how much he cared about Celaena and I did really love their relationship. (view spoiler)

Anyway - that's enough rambling for now! Overall, I REALLY enjoyed this book - but a few parts were quite predictable and, as I said, I would have liked for Celaena and Dorian to have lived happily ever after. That's the only reason why I've not given it the full 5 stars.

P.S. I now really want to read Crown of Midnight, but I ordered it online and it's not arrived yet - I'm honestly on the verge of a breakdown! I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! ...more
