I know that this book has a lot of hype around it. Because of that I decided to wait to read it until I was in the right mood. That happened last week. This book was AMAZING. I have been wanting to start this series for ages but I couldn't really afford to buy all three books (I knew that I would want to marathon them). However, I managed to get the first book really cheap on my Kindle, and I finally decided to pick it up! First read 7/14-7/17/15: I really liked this! I mean, everyone talks about how great it is so I shouldn't be that surprised. And everyone talks about how sassy Celaena is but damn...I was not prepared for her level of sassiness. I guess the only thing that I didn't like about this first book is how little we get to see of her supposed mad assassin skills. For me this book lacks suspense. It only build up towards the ends. It also became boring at some parts. I hope the sequel will be a lot better

This was such a good introduction to a amazing series.
Such a great story and world.
Not to mention that Celaena was strong, witty and completely badass.
I loved the character back stories and shockingly enough I didn't mind the love triangle that's forming.
I enjoyed the Celaena and Nehemia's relationship. And I hope that Nehemia's character develops more in the rest of the series.

this book was amazing it was an epic fantasy read and i was hooked from the begening it was much more then a love triangle i love celena and dorion
In my opinion, it definitely didn't live up to all the hype, but I will continue the series as I am told it only gets better.
