3 stars. Listened on Audibles
Everyone seemed to love the book, and I found it okay but not a favorite. The reader was excellent, but I found myself getting bored with the romance parts and wanted more of the action and resistance parts. I do think it’ll make a great movie.

The ending is the most emotional part to me. Everything comes together by then. Or at least for the reader.

The things Vianne, Isabelle and countless others had and did to survive during this time is remarkable. Even though this book is fiction, it rings pretty close to the truth.

The Author does a respectful job of writing about this time in history and I feel like I gained more knowledge about this time as well.

Shelves: audible-books

A very powerful story of love, family and doing the right thing, no matter the cost. There are moments of heart break; as to be expected in a story about WWII, but there are also moments of hope and survival. This is one I’ll recommend to all who’ll listen!
