This. Book. Is. SOOOOO. Good!!!! I am a huge fan of historical fiction (especially WW2 fiction), and this novel delivers and then some. The characters are beautifully crafted, and the story is expertly paced and woven together. A warning: this story will break your heart again and again, but there is such strength and redemption. I cried many times, and was full-on bawling at the conclusion of the tale.... and yet, I didn't want it to end. It illuminates all sides of humanity in an unflinching, ...more
