It's taken me a while to come to some conclusion about my rating of Divergent.
The story itself is captivating enough, and I really liked the idea of separating people into factions based on beliefs/viewpoints. While I do find that categorizing people into these factions is pretty much fighting what makes us human, it still was a cool idea to think about.
Aside from that, I wasn't entirely impressed. I'm a big sucker for an author that world-builds well, and I don't think that happened here. I d ...more

I would actually give this book 3.5 stars if I could. The only distopian novels I have read were the Hunger Games series so I wasn't sure what to expect. I really liked this book. I couldn't put it down. I am really looking forward to the next one! ...more
