I liked it! It was fun and interesting and I'll probably read the others ones soon too. Not as good as The Hunger Games, but better than Catching Fire and Mockingjay.

I have to say I liked this book a lot more than The Hunger Games, and I will most likely read the next in the series. Unlike the dominant Capital in Hunger Games, this book features Chicago with Lake Michigan reduced to a marsh and four factions living in what at first seems to be a pretty harmonious society. Great book, very reminiscent of The Hunger Games, but a little less isolated, if that makes any sense. The relationship between the hero and the heroine makes sense, which doesn't always happen in YA.

I would actually give this book 3.5 stars if I could. The only distopian novels I have read were the Hunger Games series so I wasn't sure what to expect. I really liked this book. I couldn't put it down. I am really looking forward to the next one! ...more

Definitely wants to be The Hunger Games, and I wanted that, too, but it didn't live up. I liked the characters somewhat, but the pacing was off and I just didn't buy in entirely. I'm not sure if I'll read the others or not.
