I got this book free from goodreads-first-reads. Since I didn't finish it, I feel I had to give it two stars, although I really liked the story No One Goes to Heaven to See Dan Fogelberg. I felt it, by itself, deserved four stars. I felt the short stories were just too short, and lacked heart.

This is a strange collection of short stories. Some are laugh out loud funny, some are intelligent and some are head-scratchers. Novak certainly is a good story-teller, it's just some of his stories are a little too obscure for me.
