I've said it a lot, but this series is AWESOME. I love the characters, plot, swoons, and everything about it. I did not see the switch coming at the end of the book, but was kinda hoping it would happen-I mean there's no happy ending otherwise (in my opinion). I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed by Silence. This series is just not holding my interest any longer. I loved Hush, Hush and Crescendo, but something just fizzled with this one. I no longer found Patch to be as appealing and Nora drove me insane. Furthermore, the plot did not hold my interest. I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed by Silence. This series is just not holding my interest any longer. I loved Hush, Hush and Crescendo, but something just fizzled with this one. I no longer found Patch to be as appealing and Nora drove me insane. Furthermore, the plot did not hold my interest. The last five chapters were really what redeemed this one for me, but it was too little, too late. Those chapters held the intensity and appeal that I loved in the previous books.

I really liked Nora in the previous books, but in this one she was just whiny and temperamental. She also did some stupid things that made me shake my head and wonder about her sanity. Never before have I wanted Patch to end up with someone else, but for most of this book I thought he deserved better. Perhaps the memory loss caused Nora to forget her personality as well. She just seemed off until the very end of the book, but that was too little too late for me. Furthermore, I'm just not feeling Patch anymore. He's lost his luster and his crossing into the land of creepy. I am so tired of hearing him call Nora "Angel". That element of the book annoyed me more than everything else. The romance in this one is unrealistic. I didn't find either of them to sympathetic characters in any way.

In addition, I just didn't find the plot of this one to be that riveting. It was the same old song and dance between the Nephilim and the Fallen Angels. There was additional information about Archangels that was interesting, but since it didn't drive most of the story I was slightly bored. The ending was interesting and probably my favorite element of this book, but it also was lacking when I think of other books I have read recently. The writing didn't flow well and the plot seemed to jump around abruptly. I also was overwhelmed with the info dumps that happened at several intervals in the book.

Writing this review was quite the challenge because I wanted to love this book and I tried really hard to make that happen but in the end it just didn't work out that way. I found myself zoning out during this one and just wishing that things would move along quicker. I have never felt that way when reading Fitzpatrick's work before. She always creates a world that I want to spend time in - but this time I wanted to get out of the world and into the next audiobook on my TBR list as quickly as possible. I know I am probably in the minority concerning this book, but it just didn't meet my expectations. I don't think I will read the fourth book. I will just end my journey with Patch and Nora with this installment.

One Last Gripe: Nora and her mom's relationship in this one is appalling. I was so disappointed in them both.

My Favorite Thing About This Book: There is nothing that stands out for me that wasn't already mentioned in the review. I really do feel just kind of blah about this one.

First Sentence: The sleek black Audi rolled to stop in the parking lot overlooking the cemetery, but none of the three men inside had any intention of paying respects to the dead.

Favorite Character: I didn't have one

A wonderful third installment to the Hush, Hush series. I loved it from start to finish. It didn't have the same heart-wrenching feeling as Crescendo gave me, but I read it in a couple days and that's only because I had to sleep. Yes, I really did. Before I start my review, YAY! I finally read Silence after months of waiting! And I got the hardcover edition for a paperback price, what a steal!

Having forgotten what happened at the end of Crescendo, I was blindly entering Silence, but somehow I was glad of that because I got to reconnect with the characters and get to know them all over again. And the most prominent character that left me with such a profound impression was Nora.
In the previous books, I was all Patch-y, Patchtastic, eye-Pat Before I start my review, YAY! I finally read Silence after months of waiting! And I got the hardcover edition for a paperback price, what a steal!

In the previous books, I was all Patch-y, Patchtastic, eye-Patch etc, and I mostly paid attention to the romance more than the fighting scenes (can't help it, I'm a softy for romance), however in Silence, I would describe it as more 'political' (angel politics) and much more intense, the writing was different from what I remembered from the previous books and it was just plain amazing. The writing became much more mature, probably because I was seeing a whole new side of Nora.

In Silence, Nora was different person, after waking up in a cemetery after weeks of being missing and have no memory of the past five months of her life, she was stuggling to make sense of what have happened and tried to go back to her normal life. To be honest, I like Silence Nora, she was much more curious and determined enough to search for answers to reassemble the missing pieces of her memory, and she was rebellious, something surprising in Nora. Nora was indeed a bit whiny in Silence, but it was also surprising to me that it did not get on my nerves. I was excited to be reading through Nora's POV because everything was back to zero basis and I was relearning the facts of angels.

I am a huge Patch fan, but Silence also inroduced me to a character that I never thought I will get to know. Jev. Patch was an angel jock, but Jev was a matured, surpressed man. He was Still-Hot and All-Business, not Patch at all, but somehow I detected an edge to his character, he was a man of loss, and this was the first time that I've seen Patch/Jev seemed so vulnerable. In other words, I fell in love with Patch's alternate soft side, Jev.

There was more mystery in viciousness in Silence and it was definitely much more action packed. Praises for the writing!

However, I rated it four stars because I wished there was more romance in it,the romance was still very intense, but I find it lacking. That's just me, I couldn't live without the romance, as for the plot, I have no complains, I love Silence. Period.
