1/27/23: this was a re-read. I had a jolly good time reading this but I do think it is one of her weaker books in the series. The plot is kind of similar to others she's written. Nothing to special about it. I did like one of the twists at the very end, and the discussions of racism and stereotyping of AAPI cultures in the US.

I loved the last book by Tess Gerritsen, Ice Cold, and this one was a close second. The scene where Rizzoli is in the meat freezer with the Irish Mafia and the lights go out and something not quite human is crawling on the roof matches all the suspense stories I've read. Do I have to wait a year for the next one? Bring it on.

Another great Rizzoli and Isles book. I loved how a lot of the book was from a different perspective - not just Jane or Maura's. Definitely worth reading if you are a fan of the previous books.

One of Gerritsen's best. I loved finding out about Boston's Chinatown. Rizzoli and Isles are my favorite characters.

Another fantastic Rizzoli and Isles novel... This is the ninth story, and also one of the best,of a very good series of books, with great mythology as well as the excellent crime and detection aspects I have come to expect from this very talented writer. The only downside is that I have to wait until September for the tenth book, called last to die. At least I have the tv series to fall back on, its quite a lot different from the books, but it is still very good......

Gerritsen has done it again: used her superb writing skills to craft a totally unique and thrilling mystery novel. The Silent Girl kept me guessing all the way until the very end and, even after closing the book, I still had to pause and think through things a bit to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
