I just finished this book and don't have words enough to express how much I loved it. I'll have to let it process first. But I lived in the South as a child, in Mississippi, in the 70s, during times of change. And even if you didn't live through those times (this is set somewhat earlier in the 1960s), this book has much to say about people and change. Beautiful. Beautifully written.

The book was very fun and entertaining to read. On the downside, I was quite disappointed with the ending. I would have liked to find out what became of all of the characters. The book seemed to just stop.
