Original, remarkable, gripping. I was wholly engrossed in this study in sociology and psychology as told thru the eyes of a child.
I was expecting this book to be more of a tear jerker than it was (it wasn't at all). It didn't break my heart, as the back said. It was a good story, well written, and well told from the boys perspective. I wish there was more from Ma's point of view, and a bit more of the aftermath. But an easy read.
