This is one of those books I just couldn't put down. Jack's voice is loud and clear. One of the best character developments I've seen in a long time.

I was expecting this book to be more of a tear jerker than it was (it wasn't at all). It didn't break my heart, as the back said. It was a good story, well written, and well told from the boys perspective. I wish there was more from Ma's point of view, and a bit more of the aftermath. But an easy read.
