Shelves: ya-kidlit, fantasy, suspense
I wanted to love this book but it didn't quite get to that. I liked it, sure. It is well written, well-paced, and full of things that surprised me until I worked out what was going on. I'm not sure I'll read the rest of the series. My copy of the book includes the first chapter of the next in the series but I didn't read it; I wasn't quite captured by the characters enough to be that eager to find out what happens next. ...more
