If I could give this book more stars I would give it all the stars in the sky.
I absolutely loved this book. It has everything I needed, humour, science, space, suspense and potatoes. My god the potatoes!
I wanted to make this last as long as possible but couldn't stop thinking about it when I put it down so had to pick it up again and again. I was making copious notes on my kindle highlighting the lines I loved and had to stop because nearly every line was one I loved.

Love, love, loved this book. It was so easy to get sucked into Watney's story of survival and the obstacles he came into contact with that I couldn't put this book down. Watney is such an inventive and ingenious character, with a little bit of a fuck it attitude at times, and his humour and personality make you want him to succeed. A few thoughts about this book:
1. The audio version is fantastic!
2. The sarcasm and "snarkiness" (probably not a word) of the characters suited me well.
3. I have seen the movie (twice), so this may have helped me through the science parts. I may have tuned out a little during those since I listened to this while walking on the treadmill.
4. It took me a while to get through this - not because I didn't like it but because I only listened when I was on the treadmill in my basement. I am not a big t ...more
