Oh, I was so sad to have this book end. Few books are worthy of hugging after the last page has been turned.I hugged this book. I hugged it with a big smile and a satisfied sigh. It has everything--suspense, emotion, and humor. The humor had me laughing out loud. The suspense left me knocking my knees together. Just a great read, and I normally do not even like anything scientific and technical. :)

The story was great, although within the first 10 pages, I was skeptical about the luck of being both an engineer and a botanist while stranded on Mars. I'm excited to see the movie next month.

Watney's MacGyver-ish talents were interesting, and he had a fun personality. Astronauts are a special class of people.
