I feel terrible that it took me so long to get back to this book, and thus to move it from the unfinished shelf, to the completed one. In my defense, when I was reading it earlier, there was too much drama in my personal life ; enough that the book's most dramatic moments simply seemed to bog down for me.

I work in a library so it's no surprise that books about books tend to capture my attention; they don't always manage to keep my attention. Shadow of the Wind is a book not only about books but about writers. It is about saving forgotten books and about destroying that which brings you too much pain. It's more mystery than magic; filled with love, war, and regret. It is a journey worth taking.
