This book was a very pleasant surprise - I can't even remember how I came to own it, must have been on a New Kindle Spree - it's one of those that you're not really sure what it's about, but you take the risk anyway and it pays off.

I'm sad about how I feel about this book because I really wanted to like it. I liked the premise and the set-up with the plague, but I didn't get attached to any of the characters or their plights. I also found it very distracting that the time periods kept switching from after the flu and before with Arthur. I honestly didn't care about that guy and his many wives. This book was lyrical and beautiful in almost a poetic way and it was a timeless book.
It took me years to get to this, but I loved it.
