I'm not a big fan of science fiction but I really enjoyed this book. If not for it being a category in my book challenge, I'm sure I never would have read it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I became engrossed.

The caption on the book says: 'Disturbing, inventive and exciting' This it is not. It is however a sequence of loosely connected events that are beautifully described. Personally; I found the elegant prose did not counter the clunky dialogue. As Dystopian novels go it did not really bring anything new to the table. Cormac McCarthy's 'On the road' was much more sparse on the descriptive detail but for me it was so much more resonant on a personal level. In terms of the characterisation within Sta

Great book. Gave me hope in a dark time, humanity can continue.
