Okay, so I decided to give this a shot because I just learned over the last couple of years that I suddenly like fantasy type of novels, which have always been a "NO WAY" for me. This novel reminded me why I do not like fantasy novels and maybe those few that I read were the mere exceptions. It's not that I don't have an imagination; it's that this just didn't do it for me. This was a great book. People who communicate with rats, women who can open doors to any place in any time, and entire underground world, complete with bad guys for hire( who will eat you if you irritate them enough), and an average joe who gets stuck in the middle of it all. Listening to Neil Gaiman READ a Neil Gaiman novel is the ONLY way to read a Neil Gaiman novel I have decided. I have now listened to three of his books on Audible and read one. The two he narrated (this one and The Ocean At The End Of The Lane) are by far my favorites and the whimsy of them just makes me so happy....even when the story gets weird and morbid.
