Good Things:
1) This book is a dystopia, yet it still has technology. The characters mention movies and movie theaters, mobile phones, TV, popcorn, planes, and more. This isn't a world that's been decimated. I found that refreshing.
2) There's no 'cat fighting' going on between the girls in the Selection. In fact, one of the rules upon being chosen is that you cannot hurt another girl in the Selection - either by violence or by sabotaging their chances to win.

It surprises me how much I enjoyed to read this book. Before I started, I read a few not-so-good and thought "oh well, another similar book". The further I got into it, the more I liked it, the more America got annoying with her "omg I can't decide because I can't" blahbla and the more I started to hate Aspen for being clinchy. And getting America in danger. But yeah. :D
