It got 5 out of 5 stars because it was simply amazing. I adore John Green's writing with every further book I read. They are always so funny and intelligent that you just can't help but love them. Personally I liked it better than Looking for Alaska, mainly because I liked these characters better. The appendix was really interesting (and made me remind myself of math in school but it wasn't bad). Okay, so something I really really love about this book is the footnotes. The book reads as very Train of Thought from the point of view of a prodigy (coughgeniuscough) and that means that sometimes the story goes into tangents, but those tangents are often told through Chicago-Style footnotes at the bottom of the page. I adored those footnotes and the style of the writing and so much of this book.

This was my first book from John Green. A nice intro to his writing and storytelling. I easily related to Colin and Lindsey as I shared certain traits when I was that age.
I found that the coming of age and self discovery of the story endearing and believable. I can't wait to read my next selection from this author. ...more
