I found the part related to the birth of FBI quite entertaining and I felt really sad about what the Indians went through. I can understand why groups pick up this book.

Excellent reportage and writing to tell a horrific tale of murderous conspiracy in the name of greed against a people who had already been brutalized by the government during westward expansion. What was left to do to them? Steal something that they were new to — mineral rights and money. The death toll is not even known. The other part of the story — Hoover’s fledgling FBI and the old school western men he put in charge of solving the case — is also interesting. These men had targets on their b ...more
