Merlyn's origin story, 1st in a series of three. Stewart did a lot of research on the Arthurian Legends, and it shows. Is Merlyn a trickster or a Mage or a little bit of this and a little bit of that? I think it's left up to you to decide. I liked that what he is remains unclear, and the restraint Stewart showed creating his character maintains this uncertainty. I wasn't always sure if he was being honest with us.
