Penguin Twentieth Century Classics edition, translated by Robert Baldick (no other translations tried. Also, quick Beavis & Butthead style snigger at the name.)
Five stars doesn’t mean I agree with every single word. (This book gets quite a few lower ratings from people who dislike it because they don’t think like the protagonist – intelligent people who don’t usually review that way.) If there is one thing I am grateful for, is having read Sartre thirty years ago and having that awful experience (and its consequences) safely and forever behind me.
Consequences there were, though. The experience messed with my teenage mind, big time, in ways I didn't even realise until much later.
