This is a forceful, dynamic and persuasive collection of essays written by Baldwin while he was in his 20s! As a middle (past..) aged woman I am dazzled by the intelligent world-view and ability to analyze data of a man so young. Baldwin's writing is sensational, his ideas revolutionary and his ability to express it all impactful. In 2020 we haven't made nearly enough progress in changing the problems that Baldwin wrote about so many decades ago. I can only imagine the sorrow he would experience ...more
