I recently found out that Louisa May Alcott had written this book.
Rosamond Vivian would do anything for a year of freedom. In a short phrase, she is going stir crazy and longs for adventure. She lives with her grandfather who is unable to show her any kind of affection or warmth. A stranger calls on her grandfather and her life is never the same again.
The book reminded me of typical 18th century literature that had all plot and no character development, but I really enjoyed it.
